Intergenerational Council for Community Healers

Council  is a way to open dialogue with attention to equity and inclusion, and community praxis in the  art of the circle. The circle has no beginning, and no end. The circle has no hierarchy. People  around the circle have varying degrees of power and perspective, but council practice holds us  all as equal, necessary, belonging. We offer this practice to our community of healers as a way of deepening meaningful connection and mutual support and collaboration with other community builders.

As part of our mission, we are setting an intention to welcome all therapists regardless of experience level, or licensure and we are prioritizing LGBTQIA, BIPOC, API and other marginalized communities in registration, even as we welcome all.

Facilitators: Ricardo Gonsalves, PhD, Lisa Maurel, LMFT, and Maryam Obeyd, LMFT.

Upcoming Council: Saturday November 18th 10am-12 noon

Cost: Suggested donation of 25-50 per council. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Ongoing Events

Social Psychoanalysis Study Group

Events - The Malama Collective

Join us as we read and discuss contemporary research and theory in Social psychoanalysis. The focus of the readings  revolves around questions of social situatedness and intersectionality in clinical work. We investigate questions of power dynamics, oppression, as well as the ways in which our social and political field influences the therapeutic process. In the past, the Social Psychoanalysis Study Group has read and discussed papers and books by leading psychoanalysts as well as a variety of philosophers and anthropologists working at the intersection of psychoanalysis.

Meetings are held on zoom, the third Thursday of every month. This study group is open to everyone and is funded through donations. Suggested donation: $50/month.

For more information, or to inquire about joining the group, please email our facilitator, Roxy Green at  roxy@themalamacollective.com.  Zoom links and designated readings are distributed by email after joining the group.
